Ricardo Cabeza Rodríguez, CEO of El Gaitero Group and former Vice-President of AICV, succeeds Daniel Emerson (CiderIreland), whose term was marked by progress on core
industry issues, notably cider taxation and the development of EU-wide marketing standards. AICV thanks Daniel for his efforts in promoting exchanges and ensure steady progress during a challenging period for the sector.

The newly elected President, Ricardo Cabeza Rodríguez, brings more than 25 years of experience in executive roles across various business models, including family-owned companies, cooperatives, and international enterprises. In addition to his role at El Gaitero, he serves as President of the Spanish Cider Association (AESI), reflecting his longstanding involvement in the cider community at both national and European levels.

The Assembly also confirmed the election of Rickhard Voigt, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Kopparbergs Bryggeri AB, as Vice-President. With nearly three decades of experience in
cider production, and a background in brewing and product development, Rickhard reinforces the association’s operational and product-focused expertise.

The new leadership team reflects a shared commitment to represent the interests of the cider and fruit wine sector across Europe.

Ricardo Cabeza Rodríguez: “In my first words as President, I would like to say thank you Daniel, thank you for the great work you have done over the last two years, especially on sensitive topics like marketing standards and cider taxes. Your hard work has led to a lot of progress and set a high standard for me. Over the last two years and in the next two, our organisation will continue to face these key challenges for our Cider industry, Marketing Standard and the issue of taxes, which we must face together with a constructive spirit. As I take over the role of president of AICV, I am hopeful and determined to meet the responsibilities of this position. I am sure that with the valuable help of Anne Sophie, our Secretary General, we will continue progressing in the right way, managing our organisation.

AICV congratulates Ricardo and Rickhard on their election and looks forward to their leadership over the next two years.
